the present Re-opening Committee, and possibly one or two others later on.

I am looking forward to hearing whether Sloss is going to pay

us a visit. When I sent you my telegram saying that I hoped he would come as Vice-Chancellor I had not received your letter of the 17th August and was still expecting the re-opening of the University to take effect in October or not long after. Now I suppose he will not find it possible to come in that capacity pending a decision on the main question. only hope that January is going to see the whole thing settled and Sloss coming out, for a while at any rate, with all the glory and all the work of getting the worthily re-established University into being.

Yours sincerely,

hank Young.
